The Island of Kauai is the oldest island in the Hawaiian Island chain and the most rural.

There are 4 regions, Poipu, Lihui, Princeville, and the Napali Coast.

Kauai is the only island with most of the population on the southern and eastern sides of the island.

The Napali Coast is one of the rainiest places in the world so it is a great destination if you want to visit the rainforests and waterfalls that are abundant on the Island of Kauai!

Travel Guide to Beaches and Shores

Kauai is the most northern island in the Hawaiian Islands and there are three districts that offer accommodations.

The Sheraton Resort is directly on Poipu Beach which is the best choice for swimming and snorkeling.

Search for more options in the Poipu Beach area and the Kauai South Shore district.

On the East Shore are the villages of Kapaa, Wailua, and Lihue where the shore line is rugged with only a few beaches where you can swim or snorkel.

Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay

The Hilton Garden Inn resort is adjacent to one of the only swimming beaches on Kauai’s  East Shore of Kauai.

A great value with the feeling of being at the edge of the earth.

The North Shore is the Princeville St. Regis resort and several condos resorts. The Princeville St. Regis has an elevator that takes you down the cliffs to the beach.

The West Shore is residential and wilderness with only one property that has cottages at the foot of the road to Kokee State Park.

Even though Kauai is cooler than the other islands it is humid and breezy. Guests from dry climates may require A/C to be comfortable.

Most of the condos do not have air conditioning so be sure to book your package with us and we will make sure that you have the A/C if you require it.

Wailua River Cruise

The Wailua River offers lots of tours and activities.

Combine a ride on the riverboat on the Fern Grotto Tour  with a tour of  Waimea Canyon.

We can book one tour that takes you to both locations with a narrated guide in a comfortable coach.

Visit the rain forest and Hanalei Valley. Kauai offers several tours that take you to places that are inaccessible on your own.

Snorkeling in Kauai

Snorkeling in Kauai is accessible from the shore or from a snorkel cruise boat or raft.

Some of the snorkel cruises that take you close to the shear cliffs of the Napali Coast are rubber rafts with outboard motors. Departures are from Hanalei or Poipu.

For guests that are more comfortable on a boat with bathrooms, showers, meals and shade you can choose from several power boats or sail boats.
